Hey Everyone,
As we wrap up our “Seeds of Generosity” series, I’ve been moved by the conversations we’ve had and the stories we’ve shared about what it means to live generously. This journey through scripture has shown us—from the widow’s might to Joseph’s strategic foresight—that giving isn’t just about what we do with our resources; it’s about the condition of our hearts. Moreover, the condition of our hearts is directly impacted by the practices we engage in. Remember, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21).

This Sunday, May 5th, is more than just another service; it’s a day we’re setting aside to take a tangible step forward in our commitment to our church and to each other. It’s about showing up for our community and investing in our collective future. I believe in what we can do together, and I’m excited to see how each of us will choose to grow one step in our journey of faith and generosity.
Remember, if you want to shift your heart toward something good, devote yourself to practices that take you there. Generosity is one such practice. It takes the focus off of ourselves and puts it on others. In this way, we start to resemble the God who made us. God, who demonstrated love by giving himself to others. Most notably, he did this by sending His Son, Jesus.
When you come to church this Sunday at 10:00 AM, bring with you not just your offering, but your heart and your hopes for what West County Church can achieve—not just now, but for generations to come in the Saint Louis area. Remember, no amount is too small; every increase, no matter the size, makes a big difference. We’ve seen time and again how our generosity can extend far beyond the walls of our church, touching lives and making a real impact in our community.
Let’s make this Sunday a memorable one. Let’s come together, ready to pledge, ready to make a difference, and ready to take that next step in faith. We do more than just keep the lights on; we light up the world with the good news of Jesus. And if we know one thing to be true it’s this: our community needs more of the light of Jesus.
Thank you for walking this path with me, for every step you’ve taken so far, and for the steps we’ll continue to take together.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Mark
