Planning and Zoning Commission Approves Conditional Use Permit
A large segment of West County Church gathered at the Ellisville City Hall for a Zoning Commission meeting to make a request for a zoning change for 16019 Manchester Rd. This space was zoned originally for commercial use. So, for a church to use it, we would need to be granted a conditional use permit to operate a church in that space.
After a few matter-of-fact questions from the board, most of which focused on parking and other practical matters, the board voted unanimously to recommend our use permit.
Thanks be to God! The meeting was very cordial and mercifully brief.
God is on the move!
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Ellisville City Council meeting on March 15. That is the next milestone to be praying over. Specifically pray for:
- Continued good relationships with those who work in the City of Ellisville government.
- That God would give us favor in all that we do as we prepare to begin meeting in this space. There is certainly work that we will need to do.
- That we would renew and maintain our focus on the Great Commission (Matthew 28) as we attend to this very important and practical stage in our congregation’s growth and development.
There are many more details to look forward to as we prepare to make this new location our home. Please be in prayer for the church council as they do their level best to lead us forward.
Moments of transition often give opportunities for the Devil to get in the midst of details and relationships. Be vigilant of this danger but prayerfully speak your mind in all matters as Christians ought to do. However, remember that a spirit of generosity and the choice to assume the best of one another much more resembles the Spirit of Christ. One way that some people come to faith in Christ is when they see Christians deal with one another in both grace and truth.
